3 ways to build your facebook fan page 11/14/2011
3 Ways to build your facebook fanpage. One of the most common questions I get is "Can you help me advertise my facebook fanpage?". I can do better than that. I can help you build your fanpage. 1. Spend time on facebook building relationships. Relationships are key to attracting new viewers and keeping them interested. After seeing many pages that have little interaction with the moderator I decided that I would do the opposite and engage. At first I felt maybe being too available was not a good thing but then I accepted the fact that if I was going to grow the page and brand I would have to be a part of it and live it 24/7. Have no fear of spending time doing something you enjoy. If it is your goal to grow your page you have to put the time in, bottom line and a no-brainer as I see it. 2. Having a point of view. I cannot tell you how it bores me to be on a page where I see a moderator trying to play both sides of the fence. I also see a very similar theme where a page is set to a tone and sticks to it the whole time. People want to hear your opinion for better or worse. If they agree or do not agree it is up to them. But providing a forum for others to engage and be themselves is crucial. You will be criticized and admired for it equally, but at least you are being yourself. Some days I am having a tough day, some days I am having a great day, and sometimes it happens to all shine through. Having a page will temper you to be who you are or who you want to be, but just be yourself and always look ahead. Being yourself takes responsibility and acceptance of who you are. Shit, I talk about everything but more importantly I talk about things with passion because I am passionate about my life and niche so it shines through. It is easy to zig all the time but when you zag people take notice and when people take notice it is much better than taking nothing away at all. If you are just there to sell something people will see that, but people have to trust and know you before they buy anything you have to offer. I want to sell a brand but in order to do that people need to buy into the lifestyle, and in order for me to do that I have to become that lifestyle and understand the lifestyle of others. My brand is a BJJ company and I train daily, study techniques, and trends with vigor to set myself apart and be transparent with my discourse. When I want to get in shape I hire a trainer who is in shape, not one who looks like a beach ball, just how I am. 3. Encourage and help people if you can. Optimism is contagious as is encouragement. Providing photos and video that others may want to watch or share is crucial to growth of your fanpage. Just finding positive quotes on google is not enough. Just talking about how great you think you or your page are is not enough and even egotistical at times. Don't beg or ask, and don't gloat about how your page is the best. If it's good then that is understood. But it's not about your page numbers, it's about the people on it and how they feel. Tell stories, tell them through updates, pictures, videos, experiences, and even through questions. I don't get back to everyone but when I do I try and set time apart to answer questions in a sincere manner. If I am wrong, sometimes I will personally email someone and apologize. If someone does something great, sometimes I will randomly write them and tell them. It's not being fake or acting nice, it's about taking responsibility for your actions and trying to be your best. People can read through BS. If you have any tips you want to add place them below, or if you seek advertisement through my fanpage ask me about our rates. I am eager to help you help yourself.
